Fair Trade

Fair Trade: This is our contribution for more quality of life and financial security for our Indian manufacturer. Our first priority is to make an active contribution for the manufacturers who is producing our products.
“Chapati” is the Indian word for “Bread".
Here in Berlin we have about over a dozen employees and we want to take care of the financial security and continuity for the people who work for us in structurally week areas.
Therefore we just produce by proved manufactures in India; we accept their offered price and pay via prepayment. So we can be sure, that the salary and the materials are paid on time. That also the weakest link in the chain, the worker gets his salary. Since many years we work with the same company and order goods continuously. We are happy to see over the years continuous increasing, if by our Indian Manufacturer or by Chapati design. Our concept stands on the test of time. We dispose an agreement with our manufacturers in order that the profits are flowing directly in the company. So that adhesion contracts do not have a chance.

Working conditions:

Two times a year we visit our manufacturer in their local area and can certify the production facility. Of course we do not employ children or teenager under the age of 18. The worker gets an hourly wage and do not have to work for task wage.

Environment protection:

All our shops in Berlin also the office receive currency from an eco-electricity-supplier.

The rubbish from the manufacturing-process is going recycled and could be for example a new patchwork article. All colours which are used for our clothes are AZO FREE. (the name “AZO” is originate from an old French word for Nitrogen: “Azote” this is build from the Greek Word a(= no/nothing) and zoe(=life). These two words can give a little taste how noxious AZO-colours are
